Afternoon Winter Delight
It Was An Afternoon Wintery Delight...
We've had an interesting winter in Bucharest. It snowed a couple days in the Peris and Snagov area of Bucharest and finally melted about a month and a half later. While in the city, it barely snowed a day or two and melted the next day. On one of our recent visits to the Snagov house, we all commented how it looked like a winter wonderland, it was chilly and beautiful fresh snow decorated the trees and roadways and the house. We were sitting at the table with Nadia and were enjoying our coffees and chatting about life and comparing notes about how winter is in Ukraine and in Romania. Masha and Ada loved watching the snow fall, and eating sweets with us at the table.
Our ministry partnership with UBC'22 at the Snagov house to care for the Ukrainians seeking refuge is continuing to run smoothly. Currently we have two families, a single mom with her kids and another mom with her mom and her kids.
Co-op with UBC'22, AlfaOmega, H2H Brief Update
UBC'22 ministry at Biserica Sfanta Treime is thriving. We have a few families at the center. The building has undergone a successful series of remodels of the youth 'hangout' rooms, the sunday school room, the bathrooms, and shower areas. UBC continues to provide shelter to a few families and individuals. Some of the residents have taken it upon themselves to utilize their skills and gifts to help with maintaining the church building and helping with other repairs. They see it as their way to show their appreciation to the team and to God for caring for them in this difficult time of war. Teams from other organizations in the States, and volunteers have been faithfully serving in every way they are able and we appreciate their willingness to translate as most Romanians and Americans even don't really speak Russian or Ukrainian. A lot of the residents have moved back to Ukraine or have found refuge in the US and Canada, and other countries. In addition to ministry with H2H, in the spare time, I have been helping with organizing and sorting things in the donation room, and with other projects around the center. Our co-op has been working hard to provide aid relief to those affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. Please pray for this co-op and partnership that we can bring the hope and love of Jesus to those in our care in Bucuresti, Romania, and in Turkey, while sending much needed supplies.
We invite you to join us in this journey with us!
Here is how you can support us:
---Pray: God hears your prayers and is on the move!! Please pray for our Ukrainian brothers and sisters, and pray for the staff and volunteers working hard daily to keep houses and centers running smoothly, for the staff and volunteers to be healthy and safe especially in travels to Ukraine and Turkey, and for hearts to be won for Jesus-that we may be a light in this dark time of war. And praise the Lord for those who are drawing closer to God each day, and those who are asking questions and are open to hearing the Good News.
